In September 2023, Lisa published a book about her family's personal journey with dementia, titled "80 years without Dementia. Diagnosis Doesn't Define Life". Lisa's motivation to write the book stemmed for her desire to (a) leave a legacy on behalf of her beloved Dad and (b) educate the wider community about the possibility of 'reframing' dementia and breaking down fear and stigma around the disease.

The process of writing, then publishing, the book ignited a passion in Lisa to share her family's dementia story, not only because this keeps her Dad's memory alive but also because it has the potential to help others. She was interviewed on ABC Radio Brisbane, spoke at a fundraising event for Home Instead, narrated the story for release on audio platforms and took the book to a new author's expo.

Following her Dad's death in November 2023, this growing passion has led to Lisa writing a second book (published in November 2024) and seeking out opportunities to speak about dementia, advance care planning, palliation and end of life choices. Lisa has joined her local Dementia Support Group, and Dementia Alliance, and is relishing the opportunity to network with like minded people with a passion for dementia and dying well.
