Lisa lives in Brisbane North with her husband, two teens and their pet Jack Russell. Lisa graduated as a Social Worker from Curtin University, Western Australia, in the mid 90's and has worked in WA, NSW, QLD and Scotland. She is a registered member (accredited) of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

Across her Social Work career, Lisa has practiced in both inpatient and community mental health, sexual assault crisis services, child protection, foster care and emergency medicine (both adult and paediatric). Along the way, she has taken career breaks to have children, home educate, care for elderly parents and undertake support work for NDIS funded clients.

Lisa has a particular interest in dementia and palliative care, having 'walked alongside' her father as his disease progressed, and then facilitated his peaceful death at home in 2023. She has written two books - the first is about the lessons her family learned from their Dad's dementia ("80 Years Without Dementia. Diagnosis Doesn't Define Life"), while the second ("The Gift of a Good Death. Our palliative dementia story") focusses on the family's positive end of life experience.

Outside of work and home education, Lisa's interests include swimming, walking, yoga, Surf Lifesaving, music, anything in nature and spending quality time with her family and friends.
